Thanks and welcome...
This is the place to find out and read about the various music projects that I am involved in; Lúnasa, The Teetotallers, teaching etc. dates and details will all be posted here.
2013 started off with the recording of a promotional video for a Gathering event taking place in my home town, Ennis, Co Clare on June 21st.
Along with my Lúnasa band mates and a host of other musicians we will be attempting to break a Guinness World Record for the largest tin whistle ensemble on international music day.
The event will be part of a new music festival - Ennis Roots Weekend - and will take place during a free concert in the heart of Ennis.
I invite you to join us by learning the tune (tutorial on You Tube) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQuMtHpqiAQ and coming to Co Clare this June. You can find out more at www.ennisrootsweekend.com details are also on facebook.
The Teetotallers (Martin Hayes, John and I) were in Glasgow in January for the annual Celtic Connections festival, it was great as always and lovely to play there with this relatively new project and also great to have a full house and such a positive response. We start our US tour on April 22nd and already have a few sold out shows - really looking forward to getting out on the road with the lads.
We also had the pleasure of performing at the Irish Embassy in London for the launch of the Irish EU presidency, we had a slightly worrying start with flight cancellations but we got there eventually!
It isn't long since the end of the last Lúnasa tour in America, just about caught up on the sleep and got over the jet lag! It was a particularly exciting tour as we had advance copies of our new album with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and managed to fit in lots of great tv and radio interviews about it along the way . The CD is now avaiable from the Lúnasa web site at www.lunasa.ie and also for download from iTunes. It will be in shops from April 16th.

My latest solo album 'Carrying the Tune' has been extremely well received (you can hear some tracks here) and I have to thank LiveIreland.com for their award for Male Musician of the Year 2013 in their Livies - cheers guys!
